The ex-Charlton boss has gave a list of possible transfer targets to owner Mike Ashley and is hoping to given some transfer funds to spend.

The Magpies have already been linked with a move for a host of players in the winter transfer window here is a rundown of some of those rumoured targets.

Robbie Keane (Tottenham)
The Irish striker has fallen out of favour at Tottenham and Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is willing to let the 30 year-old leave the club. Keane has been linked with a loan move but it’s more likely that he will make a permanent move. He is likely to cost £6million in a permanent deal and according to reports he is currently in negotiations with Birmingham City over a move.

David Bentley (Tottenham)
The talented former-Arsenal winger is another player Tottenham are trying to offload. He hasn’t enjoyed the best of times since a big money move from Blackburn in 2008 and is struggling to get into the Spurs side.Spurs boss Harry Redknapp rates the 26 year-old highly but can’t give him the playing which he craves. Redknapp has revealed that he doesn’t just want him to sit on the bench not playing and is willing to let him leave either on-loan or permanently.

David Beckham (LA Galaxy)
Toon boss Alan Pardew has stated that he would be interested in signing the former-England captain on-loan. Beckham has been linked with a loan move back to the Premier League and a host of clubs have expressed an interest in signing the veteran midfielder.Tottenham are currently favourites to sign the 35 year-old former-Manchester United star.
